300th Anniversary Celebration Kick Off!

On October 17th 2021 we will hold a special worship service kicking off our 300th year of ministry! Our Church has persevered through wars, depressions, and now a global pandemic. We have staying power. We are 300 years strong. Please mark your calendar for Sunday October 17th when we will commemorate the ways God has worked through this community of faith. The Rev. Dr. Ken Brookes will be with us to share a few words. We have commissioned music already in the works. Jon Tinkham will share some stories of old. Join us in person or online celebrating the ways we are the hands and heart of God!
Church School Open House

Church School Open House

On Sunday October 3rd, our CE board and teachers will host our annual open house for PreK-grade 7. Parents should meet their children on the front lawn of the church immediately after worship, where they will be gathered with their teachers enjoying a special after-school snack! The event will take no more than 20 minutes, and will include a chance for parents to peruse their child’s curriculum, ask questions of their child’s teachers, and hear from Peter Niedmann, our music director, about opportunities for children to sing in our choirs. Please feel free to invite a family to church that day, to visit our classrooms and to learn more about joining our Church School program. We look forward to seeing you there!

Help us make one of the 500 paper cranes needed!

Help us make one of the 500 paper cranes needed!

Our church is going to be creating a public art piece this fall in our sanctuary made up of origami Peace Cranes. We are in need of the whole community to fold paper cranes. We are hoping to have at least 500 to hang in our sanctuary by All Saints Day (October 31). The crane is a symbol of peace and will represent our prayers for the world and our commitment to remember those we have lost and continue their legacies in making the world a more peaceful place. You can use your own 8×8 colorful paper or stop by the Church Office and we will have origami paper to distribute. You are welcome to write your prayers on your cranes in pencil. Please drop off the cranes anytime to the church office. We will be collecting them on the stage downstairs. For more information contact Pastor Liza at larulampalam@newingtonucc.org.
